About Me

Welcome to Boyertown Marriage and Family Therapy. Dr. Amber Berkoski is the owner and operator of BMFT. Amber always knew she wanted to work with families. She comes from a rather large and blended one herself, and when asked will often say family therapy chose her - rather than the other way around.

Dr. Berkoski founded Boyertown Marriage and Family Therapy as a local practice offering therapy services to individuals, couples, and families with specialties in trauma and children with emotional disorders.

Dr. Berkoski is a licensed marriage and family therapist and earned her Bachelor’s degree in psychology while raising babies at home. She followed this up with full time work in community mental health while she completed her Master’s degree in marriage and family therapy and Doctorate degree in Counselor Education & Supervision. Amber graduated with distinction in 2011, 2014, and 2018 respectively, with some bags under her eyes but never regretted the balance between career and family.

In the years since earning a graduate degree, Dr. Berkoski received her certification in EcoSystemic Structural Family Therapy from the Philadelphia Child and Family Guidance Center and is trained in Gottman Marriage Therapy and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She also practices Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and utilizes many tenets from Multi-Cultural Therapy to address the needs of diverse families.

Dr. Berkoski gained clinical and supervisory experience working with at-risk youth and their families in her community. She also has two years educating student-therapists and five years supervising therapists in the same work she so loves.

Wherever you find her, Dr. Berkoski is immersed in families from all sides and enjoys every moment she gets to spend with her own.
